Comment prononce 1913, p. 343 : ,,L'anglais ow se prononce comme o fermé dans bo(w)-windo(w), ro(w)ing, arro(w)-root, sno(w)-boot, et quelquefois co(w)-boy.`` Au plur. des bow-windows (cf. Ortho-vert 1966, p. 118; cf. aussi ROB.). Étymol. et Hist. 1863 (Illustration, p. 251c). Angl. bow-window « fenêtre en rotonde » attesté dep. 1753, composé de bow « arc, cintre » et de window « fenêtre ». Fréq. abs. littér. :5.
